حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي السُّوقِ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا دَعَوْتُ هَذَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم: سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي، وَلاَ تُكَنُّوا بِكُنْيَتِي.
Anas ibn Malik said, "The 1 ﷺ, was in the market when a man said, 'Abu'l-Qasim!' The 1 ﷺ, turned towards him. He said, 'Messenger of Allah, I was calling this man.' The 1 ﷺ, said, 'Call yourselves with my name but do no use my kunya.'"
